It was introduced in our paper [<a href=\"https:\/\/ieeexplore.ieee.org\/stamp\/stamp.jsp?tp=&amp;arnumber=9422699\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>PDF<\/strong><\/a>].<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Copel-AMR is composed of images captured in&nbsp;<strong>unconstrained scenarios<\/strong>, which typically include blur (due to camera motion), dirt, scale variations, in-plane and out-of-plane rotations, reflections, shadows, and occlusions. In 2,500 images (i.e., 20% of the dataset), it is not even possible to perform the meter reading due to occlusions or faulty meters.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The images have a resolution of 480\u00d7640 or 640\u00d7480 pixels, depending on the orientation in which they were taken. Considering that the meter is operational and that there are no occlusions, these resolutions are enough for the meter reading to be legible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dataset was randomly split as follows: 5,000 images for training, 5,000 images for testing and 2,500 images for validation, following the split protocol (i.e., 40%\/40%\/20%) used in the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/web.inf.ufpr.br\/vri\/databases\/ufpr-amr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UFPR-AMR dataset<\/a>. For reproducibility purposes, the subsets generated are explicitly available along with the Copel-AMR dataset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For each image in our dataset, we manually labeled the meter reading, the position (<em>x<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>y<\/em>) of each of the four corners of the counter, and a bounding box (<em>x<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>y<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>w<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>h<\/em>) for each digit. Corner annotations \u2013 which can be converted to a bounding box \u2013 enable the counter to be rectified, while bounding boxes enable the training of object detectors. The full details are in our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ieeexplore.ieee.org\/stamp\/stamp.jsp?tp=&amp;arnumber=9422699\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>paper<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to obtain the Dataset<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Copel-AMR dataset is the property of the Energy Company of Paran\u00e1 (Copel) and is released&nbsp;<strong>only<\/strong>&nbsp;to academic researchers from educational or research institutes for&nbsp;<strong>non-commercial purposes<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be able to download the dataset, please read carefully&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/web.inf.ufpr.br\/vri\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/07\/2020-07-28-Copel-AMR-License-Agreement-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this license agreement<\/a><\/strong>, fill it out and send it back to Professor David Menotti (<a href=\"mailto:menotti@inf.ufpr.br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">menotti@inf.ufpr.br<\/a>).
